All Things New
Revelation 21 and 22
He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!”
I find great hope from these final chapters of Revelation. Here we see the climactic event of the new heavens and the new earth becoming one. God will dwell in the midst of his people, and death, anger, hatred, and malevolence will cease because the old way of things have passed away.
This week, let us rest in the hope that our God is making everything new. A day is coming when he will wipe every tear from our eyes. The warmth of his presence will be the life sustaining sustenance that imputes life into his new creation for all of eternity. And we will live in peace with one another as we worship the Lamb.
Until that day, we the church live faithfully, giving testimony to the world of the loving, merciful God who takes away the sins of the world.
The Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And let the one who hears say, “Come!” Let the one who is thirsty come; and let the one who wishes take the free gift of the water of life
He who testifies to these things says, “Yes, I am coming soon.”
Amen. Come, Lord Jesus.
May we echo the prayer of the church as it has proclaimed at the end of the Bible:
Amen! Come, Lord Jesus!
